April 26, 2021 Message

Dear Members and Friends, Slowly, gradually, day by day, the COVID19 crisis abates and we return to a calmer and hopefully more thoughtful life together in the community. Yesterday, we were a bit worried that too many folks would show up for worship at 10:15 am (silly!) …and of course, even though we had prepared for having a TV in Fellowship Hall, the technology was not cooperative. Next week, we will be ready… and we will celebrate communion too! Session met last Thursday and reviewed our COVID-19 safety plan for live worship and we did not change anything… so we forge ahead, with news that we can sing softly, gently while seated. We will try to reduce the number of verses we sing and rely more on short responses, using the Doxology and the Gloria Patri, etc. We continue to keep COVID-19 victims in prayer, especially all of India right now!

As we return to a more robust community life together, why not consider getting involved in one of our three major workgroups at church? Administration and Finance (meets on the first Thursday at 7:00 pm), manages our resources including our building and property. They oversee the Thrift Shop, Summerfest, and the Turkey Dinner. Or maybe Member Care (meets on the First Monday at 10:30 am), is more your style. And of course, the Mission Group is always looking for volunteers to help us launch new projects and programs in order to spread the good news of God’s love. Let me know where you would like to get involved! Call me at (609) 457-2999 or email me at jrscotland@aol.com.

For the near future, we will need to have ushers help folks find seating safely on Sundays. These volunteers on Sunday are a very important part of our plan to return to live worship so if you are willing, please contact the office and sign up to be an usher. We will provide training!

The True Spirit Coalition can always use hearts and hands (call Brenda) and there may also be some opportunities to help with Sister Jean’s Pantry in Atlantic City. Let's get out together!

Mothers-Day Flower Sale will need volunteers to help from 2:00 pm -5:00 pm on Thursday & Friday, (May 6th & 7th), as well as all day Saturday. Call Sue Clark if you think you have time to lend a hand or two!

Stay well… get your vaccination… keep masking, washing, and distancing. COVID-19 is on the run!

Please join us LIVE on Sunday Mornings at 10:00 am for singing, and 10:15 am for worship. Use this link www.facebook.com/brigchurch.org.

If you haven’t joined us for “virtual worship”, give me a call - you need to join us! The CHURCH WEBSITE is www.brigchurch.org. My email is jrscotland@aol.com. My cell phone is (609) 457-2999.
