Dear Members and Friends,
One of the best things that happened in 2020 is the wedding of our Elisabeth to Adrian Beraquit! They will celebrate that fantasy moment on Jan. 4th! Congrats to our awesome duo. Speaking of duos, Sarah and Nico are having twins and we will certainly remember 2020 for that fact. Did anything else positive come out of this past year? ...yes, leave the door open at midnight on New Year’s eve to let 2020 go out and what portends to be a better year of 2021 in! (thanks Bev)
Annie reminded me that although we all miss gathering for Sunday Worship …something good has come out of being virtual. Most Sundays we are being joined by Larry Wilhite and Jack A. in Costa Rica and Marianne Bianchini in San Diego, and Phyllis Arthur near Orlando, and Ginger Mastrangelo in Florida, and Betty Breeden who is fighting pancreatic cancer, and Marsha in Pittsburgh, and sometimes my sister Jeanette in Denver …that is a phenomenon we should not let get out the door in 2021. We do plan to continue worshipping online, even when we are able to have folks join together in the sanctuary on Sunday mornings… and that’s something good about 2020.
As the New Year rolls in, I am sad because Rev. Jeanie Collins is beginning a new call at the Tuckerton Presbyterian Church. She won’t be able to join us at 10 AM on Sunday mornings. Her keen insight and wit, her bright-full demeanor and playful attitude will be missed by many and her deeply heartfelt prayers will be gracing other brothers and sisters of Christ now. We could not have adapted to virtual worship so quickly and so well without her assistance. Thanks, Jeanie for all the good you brought to us in 2020! And we are looking forward to “making the turn” to a New Year at the Labyrinth of Light tonight from 5 to 9.
