In so many ways, 2021 does not seem to be much different from 2020! Despite vaccinations, decreasing numbers of COVID infections, hospitalizations, deaths… we are still working at being safe and soon we will have been at this for more than a year. This week's text from Isaiah 40 is a beautiful poetic reminder that trusting in God and waiting upon God’s promise is assuring. “…but those who wait for the Lord shall renew their strength, they shall mount up with wings like eagles, they shall run and not be weary, they shall walk and not faint.” Isaiah 40:31 Perhaps you too are weary and worn from the isolation, fear, and extra effort these days demand. May we use all the gifts that God has given us to be joyful and lift each other up. Together, may we as a community be a blessing to others around us as we take on these days with faith, hope and love. Through our outreach and mission, may we be God’s instruments to bring healing and balm to a world with such great needs, while leaning on the everlasting arms!
