January 26, 2021 Message

Dear Members and Friends,

It was bound to happen eventually… I was exposed to someone who tested positive for COVID and so I have been in quarantine with Annie for the past 9 days. My test this past Saturday at an Urgent Care in Wildwood was negative and so I am hopeful that wearing the mask and keeping social distance, washing my hands, will all bear fruit and I will make it to Day-14 unscathed! My prayers are with my friends who turned out to be positive. What surprised me most about this experience, was the amount of sorrow my friends felt for exposing me to the virus. “Hey, it's not your fault! It could have happened to me at Wawa!” No matter what I said, my friend just kept repeating, “I’m sorry.” When it happened, I knew there was a possibility my friend had been exposed. We took every precaution possible, double masks, washing hands, keeping distance… no conversations face to face… but still. You see, it's what I have said from the beginning of the Pandemic. My greatest fear is that I would inadvertently infect others, that’s why the mask is important. That’s why we do everything we can, even if it curtails our freedom and comfort, to not pass it on to others. I wear a mask because I love you, my friends. I will continue to argue that we practice social distancing because I love you and do not want to bear the guilt or sorrow (misplaced as it may be) for infecting anyone else. So to my dear friends, please know I do not blame you, it's an illness, it's not your fault. Please just get better. Ready to get the vaccine? Go to covidvaccine.nj.gov and get more info and register.

Session has called for the Annual Meeting of the Congregation on Sunday, February 14th at 10:15 AM as we will worship and work together while live streaming on Facebook. Again, you don’t have to be a member of Facebook to join us for worship (see link below). Our plan is to worship on Facebook Livestream and share information about the life of the church. After worship, we will adjourn to a Zoom Call to have our meeting, elect leadership, receive financial information, and vote to amend our By-Laws. Look for more information in a mailing coming out later this week from the church that will include the By-Law changes, a meeting announcement, information about Zoom Calls as well as 2020 financial statements.

Please join us LIVE on Sunday Mornings at 10:00 am for singing, and 10:15 am for worship. Use this link www.facebook.com/brigchurch.org.

If you haven’t joined us for “virtual worship”, give me a call - you need to join us! The CHURCH WEBSITE is www.brigchurch.org. My email is jrscotland@aol.com. My cell phone is (609) 457-2999.
